Recent Railfanning on the Hudson

Today we stopped in at Brown Crossing Rd. to catch a northbound manifest with a YN2 unit leading.

The first half of the train was devoted to trash containers out of New Jersey.

Some bulkhead flats about midtrain.

Some more trash containers.

And the end of the train.

There wouldn’t be another train for a while, so we headed over to the east side to catch some Amtraks. As we arrived, the New York bound Lake Shore Limited blasted through at about 90 MPH, with a diner, a couple of sleepers, and a baggage making a nice contrast from the usual Amfleets.

The last train for the day was a southbound Empire Service, with the usual 5 cars.

With the light fading fast, we headed to our destination. Look for some more Hudson Valley railfanning soon. -Harrison
