Because of the way I did photos this year, it’s not practical to find my best shots from the year. Instead, enjoy some of the best ones that I uploaded to WordPress below. CSX trains Q003 and Q621 pass at Schenectady in January. A southbound Amtrak qualification run rolls south through Wickhams Marsh in February. […]

This T-Trak module caught my eye at the 2021 GTE show in Albany. Even though the trains pass underneath, and it has nothing to do with railroading, I’m sure many people still enjoyed seeing it. I know I certainly did, especially seeing the 3D printed spaceships.

A couple of weeks ago I heard that CP 7022 was on 650, so I grabbed it on my way into town. There was confusion as to whether the 7022 was set off in Montreal- fortunately a couple of reports in Rouses Point came in time.

On the Saturday after Thanksgiving, I found myself heading north up the River Line. We stopped in Coxsackie for a couple of trains. I169 came north in terrible light, but after a much-longer-than-expected wait, Q433 roared south. I zoomed in and snapped a shot right as the train was head-on- I find this is the […]

This past weekend I picked up a searchlight signal from Shiloh Signals at GTE 2021. I couldn’t wait to install it, so I installed it as soon as I got home. It works great, and it was only $10!

This thanksgiving I was able to do some morning railfanning along the River Line. We headed out to Kingston and waited a while before getting I003 coming north. We then headed north to CP 90 for I007. The lighting on both of the northbound was far from great. Our next stop was Saugerties, where we […]

If you live anywhere in the area, I’m sure you’re aware that the Great Train Extravaganza in Albany is this Sunday. What you may not know if that I’ll be co-hosting and running trains on Corey Ward’s 4×6 HO layout. It’s an incredible layout and Corey is an awesome guy as well, so be sure […]
